How Mehram Match collects, uses, shares and protects personal data across our website, admin dashboard, consultant app and family invite pages.
1. Who we are
Mehram Match ("Mehram Match", "we", "us") is a matrimonial network management platform used by registered consultants to manage the profiles of people seeking marriage ("members"), find compatible matches between members of different consultants, and discuss cases securely.
This policy applies to everyone whose personal data we handle: consultants and administrators who hold accounts, members whose profiles consultants create, and family members invited into a case discussion. It is written with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India in mind.
Consultants decide which member profiles to add and what to include in them. A consultant must have the member's consent before adding their details to Mehram Match (see our Terms & Conditions).
2. Information we collect
Consultant and administrator accounts:
- Name, email address and phone number(s).
- Address details: town, city, state, country and PIN code.
- Gender, education, profession, experience and a profile photo.
- Your password, which we store only in a hashed form that cannot be read back.
- Identity verification (KYC): an Aadhaar document and a selfie, used to confirm that each consultant is a real, accountable person before they can work on the platform.
Member profiles, entered by consultants:
- Name, gender, date of birth and marital status.
- Current location and native place, education, profession and, if disclosed, any disability.
- Photos and a short description written about the member.
- Religious details — sect, practicing level and beliefs — and family background.
- Partner preferences, such as preferred sect, practicing level, belief in dargah and any additional preferences.
Activity on the platform:
- Match requests, their status and history, and notes consultants keep about members.
- Case discussion messages. Text messages are encrypted on the sender's device before they reach our servers, so we store them only in encrypted form and cannot read them. We do keep who sent each message, when, and when it was read. Photos and files sent as attachments are stored without that device-level encryption.
- Family invites: an invited relative's name, relationship to the member, optional phone number, and whether the consultant approved their request.
Payments: the subscription plan, amount, currency, status, date and Razorpay reference numbers. Card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with Razorpay — we never receive or store them.
Technical information: a push-notification token for the consultant app, your online status and last-seen time, and records of actions taken in the dashboard (for example, a profile created or a request accepted). Our servers may also keep standard technical logs, such as IP address and request time, for security and troubleshooting.
4. How we use information
- To create and secure accounts, including sending one-time passwords by WhatsApp or email.
- To verify consultants through KYC before they can operate on the platform.
- To let consultants manage member profiles, assess the compatibility of two members (by sect, practicing level, belief in dargah, additional preferences and age), and send and answer match requests.
- To deliver case discussions, family invites and notifications.
- To process subscriptions and payments.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud, misuse and unauthorised access.
- To respond to support requests and to comply with the law.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. How we protect information
- All connections to Mehram Match use encrypted HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
- Case discussion text is encrypted on the device, so it is unreadable on our servers.
- Access to personal data, including identity documents, is limited to those who need it, and every account is protected by role-based permissions.
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside India. Where they do, we rely on them to protect it to a standard consistent with this policy.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
7. How long we keep information
We keep account and profile data for as long as the account or profile is active. When you ask us to delete it, or when we close an account, we delete or anonymise the data within a reasonable period — except where the law requires us to keep it, such as payment records needed for tax purposes.
Case discussion messages are kept until the discussion is deleted.
8. Your rights
Subject to the law, you can:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
- Ask us to erase it, or withdraw consent you have given.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if it is not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
Members can also make these requests through their consultant. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
9. Age requirements
Mehram Match is not intended for anyone under 18. Member profiles may only be created for people who are of legal marriageable age under the law that applies to them. If we learn that a profile belongs to someone who is not, we remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and we will tell account holders about significant changes.
11. Contact and grievance officer
For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact our Grievance Officer at support@mehrammatch.com. We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and resolve them within the time the law allows.
